The Palmer House Hilton, a prominent landmark in Chicago's Loop, offers over one hundred years of elegance with an abundance of modern conveniences. This 24-story Beaux-Arts historic property boasts a two-story gilded lobby with a formal staircase and ceiling mural, meticulously restored every four years by a Florentine artisan noted for his work on the Sistine Chapel. In 2006, the Palmer House was named a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Hotels of America (HHA) for faithfully maintaining its historic integrity, architecture, and ambiance.

The Palmer House Hilton can lay claim to many 'firsts' in its time. Maybe the best known, and certainly the most delicious 'first' they lay claim to is the brownie. The brownie first debuted at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1892, after Palmer House Hilton chefs invented it at the request of a special guest. The Palmer House Hilton is also the world's first fireproof hotel and the first building in Chicago to install lighting and telephone systems and later, the first hotel to retro fit guestrooms for computer modems.

All 1,639 rooms and suites at the Palmer House Hilton offer comfortable and sophisticated surroundings including rich woods, pillow top mattresses, two phone lines, voicemail, and high speed internet access. The hotel's Executive Level is virtually 'a hotel within a hotel' with a long list of special amenities suited for that busy executive or indulgent leisure traveler. The self-contained conference floor includes thirty-eight function rooms which can satisfy virtually every business need.

• Smoking rooms are located on the 16th and 22nd floors of the hotel, available by request only (only King and 2 Double beds rooms are smoking; All suites are non smoking)
• Please note that if the owner of the credit card we have on file will not be present at check in, the person checking in at the hotel will need to provide their own credit card. If you need to make arrangements to prepay your stay (either for yourself or for someone else), please contact us immediately and we will forward you a Credit Card Authorization Form as hotels usually require a minimum of 7 days processing time.
